“On October 5, 2023, the book launch for ‘Rooted’ was enthusiastically celebrated at the Burnaby Art Centre/Shadbolt Centre, marking a successful conclusion. ‘Rooted’ is a publication created by the Burnaby Village Museum with the support of the mayor and city council. It was compiled after six years of research and discussion, detailing the experiences and contributions of Chinese Canadian residents in the development of the City of Burnaby. The publication of this book coincides with the 100th anniversary of the Canadian government’s enactment of the Chinese Exclusion Act in 1923.

As a member of the Burnaby family, Tian-Jin Temple will continue to strive towards creating a more beautiful and inclusive city for future generations.
